club tuross bowls

welcome to club tuross bowling club

Welcome to Club Tuross Bowling Club, established over 60 years ago. We are a fun and well established club located in beautiful Tuross Head.

Tuross Head is a quiet seaside community located on a headland that juts out into the Tasman Sea with Coila Lake to the north and Tuross Lake and Tuross River to the south making the headland virtually surrounded by water.

Situated halfway between Moruya and Narooma, a four and a half hour drive from Sydney, and 2 and a half hour drive from Canberra.

Lawn bowls is a terrific social sport for people of any age. It is a low-impact form of exercise which is easy to learn but challenging to master.

Our manicured Greens are perched high with tremendous views over Tuross Head. Come and give lawn bowls and try if you’re looking for a friendly game of social bowls or join one of our teams if you want to take up a competitive sport

We welcome new members. Coaching is free for those new to the sport. Whilst you are learning we provide bowls. Until competing for the Club uniform is not required, however, flat soled shoes are essential. There is no obligation to join until you are sure bowling is for you!. Please feel free to call our friendly team on (02) 4473 8186 for any questions you may have or pop down on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday or Sunday and meet the members in person.

social bowls

Tuross Head Bowling Club features 2 well-maintained greens and has a dedicated Bowls Committee that organises a regular social bowls program for all members. Our social bowling matches are friendly, competitive and fun. Experienced bowlers are always on hand to help visitors improve their technique. Free coaching is available for those interested in the sport of lawn bowls. For further information on joining a social game and to find out playing days and times please phone the Club on (02) 4473 8186.

barefoot bowls

Barefoot bowls can be booked for a casual game with family and friends, corporate groups or barefoot bowl parties. Our relaxed, friendly atmosphere provides the ideal setting to enjoy a fun barefoot bowling experience. Combine games with our function menus for a great day out for corporate functions, staff parties, Christmas parties, birthday parties, hens/bucks/stag parties and other special occasions. For those new to bowls one of our team members can provide a short and informative bowling lesson before you start your game. ‘Organised’ barefoot bowls is held from time to time. Check with the front desk for details.

DRIFTWOOD SHORES LAKESIDE TRIPLES-
A great success

We are delighted to share the successful results of the Driftwood Shores Lakeside Triples tournament, held on October 25th and 26th. Twenty-eight teams competed for a total of $4,350 in prize money, with players traveling from across the South Coast, Canberra Region, and local clubs.

This event was made possible by the generous sponsorship of local businesses, including Driftwood Shores, Hallmark Real Estate, Platinum Blinds, Tuross Pharmacy, KyRo Property Maintenance, Batemans Bay Travel Team, AMH Motors, and Moruya Homemakers.

The competition was close, with no team winning all six games. Only four teams achieved five wins, securing prize money. The top five teams were:

* **First Place ($1500):** Alan Monfries, Trey Proctor, and Horace Williams (ACT) with five wins and a margin of plus 69 shots.
* **Second Place ($900):** Rose Farrington, Denise Lidbury, and Irene Macdonald (Tuross) with five wins and plus 36.
* **Third Place ($600):** Joel Hilliard, Tony Giannasca, and Neil Rose (Moruya) with five wins and plus 29.
* **Fourth Place ($300):** Chris Godwin, Mike Frame, and Mark Sommerville (Ulladulla) with five wins and plus 28.
* **Fifth Place ($240):** Jeff May, Ben Hoff, and Marshall Sanderson (Merimbula) with four wins, one draw, one loss, and a plus 24 margin.

Additional prizes were awarded for the best “last game” on each day. On Saturday, the $240 prize went to Dale Budnick, Noel Schubert, and Mike Corby (Vikings, ACT). On Sunday, the winners were Alison and Greg Maloney and Jeremy Seaton (Narooma). Two teams also won $165 each in a lucky draw. In total, 27 of the 84 participating players received prize money.
